MENTAL HEALTH EXPERTS

Dr. Regina Miranda

Dr. Regina Miranda is a Professor of Psychology at Hunter College, City University of New York, and is a member of the Doctoral Program in Health Psychology and Clinical Science at The Graduate Center. She directs the Laboratory for the Study of Youth Cognition and Suicide, which focuses on understanding why young people think about and attempt suicide in a way that can inform assessment, treatment, and prevention of suicide risk. Dr. Miranda also co-founded the Youth Suicide Research Consortium, which seeks to increase diversity in youth suicide research. She is the daughter of Honduran immigrants and a first-generation college student.


Dr. Miranda received her B.A. in Psychology from Yale University in 1997, her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from New York University in 2004, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, before joining the Psychology Department at Hunter College in 2005.

Dr. Alduan Tartt

Dr. Tartt is a psychologist, minister, speaker, media host and author who serves as a frequent psychology expert for national media outlets.

His YouTube channel has more than 1.5 million total views and focuses on mental health advocacy, empowering successful marriages, individual, child, family and marital psychology. 


Dr. Tartt is a graduate of Morehouse College and is the youngest African American to receive his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan. Dr. Tartt is a recipient of the NAACP award for a lifetime of work in psychology. He is a psychology consultant for the NBA and formerly for the Oklahoma City Thunder and is married with three children.

Dr. Coralanne Griffith-Hunte

Dr. Coralanne Griffith-Hunte is an International award-winning Human, Industrial, and Trauma Psychologist, Educator, Training and Development Specialist, Intergovernmental Consultant, Minister, and Chaplain. As a mental health professional, she specializes in child, adolescent, and adult trauma, mental health, and emotional intelligence. 

With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Griffith- Hunte utilizes her expertise to influence community leaders to develop and implement programs and initiatives to transform the lives of families and communities. Her vast knowledge and humanitarian work have been acknowledged by the United Nations and she has been esteemed with the title “Humanities Doctor.”

Dr. Douglas Johnson

Dr. Douglas R. Johnson is Director of the Institute of Biblical Counseling M.A.I. He is dedicated to Meta-analysis in Neuroscience using biblical principles as a base. He is the founder of M.A.I. Counseling Center (MAICC), also known as Cambio Total, located in Miami, Florida where he teaches all people who go to his counseling under the concept of programs based on biblical truths.



Dr. Johnson is on the Board of Directors of Riverside Christian Ministries. What most characterizes Dr. Johnson is that his studies are carried out under principles found in the Bible, and he explains how these Biblical principles act in the brain to help it stabilize and function an an optimal level.

FAITH LEADERS

Hyepin Im

Hyepin Im served under President Obama as a U.S. Presidential Appointee on the Board of Americorps. She is the President and Founder of Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE), a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering churches and nonprofits and a voice for the Asian American community. In 2022, Ms. Im was appointed by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to serve on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Faith-based Advisory Council. She has presented at numerous conferences including those at the White House, U.S. Department of Labor, Christian Community Development Association, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.

Aaron Graham

Aaron serves as founder and lead pastor of The District Church in the heart of our nation’s capital. Aaron and his wife Amy are both pastors and committed to starting ministries that meet the felt-needs of their city. They are adoption and foster care advocates and founded DC127 with the mission to unite churches to reverse the foster care wait list in DC. They also started a counseling ministry to help provide soul-care for those who are weary and Just Homes which is committed to building affordable housing in the city.

Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Tamez Mendez

Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Tamez Méndez, Ph.D. in Leadership, is the founder and Executive Director of NewGeneration3.org (NG3). NG3 works towards "Connecting People - Expanding Perspectives - Shaping the Future" through bilingual leadership training, research, practical resources, and consulting services. With over three decades of global ministry experience, Dr. Tamez advocates for youth’s holistic well-being and the advancement of education within the Latino community, for which she was honored with the Nuestra Herencia Award from Emory University/Candler School of Theology. She is a sought-after thought leader, published author, TEDx speaker, and serves as Director of Education and Grant Programs for Leadership Education at Duke.

Tonja Myles

Tonja Myles is an ordained minister, author, radio personality, and community activist with a powerful impact on mental health awareness and substance abuse recovery. Overcoming her own 36-year battle with addiction, childhood and adult trauma, and PTSD, she shares her experiences through published works, documentaries, and national television appearances. Tonja founded the WHEN YOU ARE READY campaign, leading a team to reduce overdose deaths through treatment resources and harm reduction strategies. As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, she's helped thousands find sobriety and self-sustainable lifestyles. Tonja's work on multiple boards and advisory councils continues to shape mental health and substance abuse services.
